3S MISSION STATEMENT
Sustainability transformations for the just and healthy environment for all and for future generations are often hindered not by the lack of data on biophysical matters but by socio-economic- political institutions, systems, and cultural norms. Social sciences and their insights on social, cultural, political, communicative, historical, and economic factors shaping human-environmental relations are crucial in sustainability solutions. Social sciences are also important in understanding how sustainability and just transitions are negotiated and defined.
